What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Our ILD clinic generally takes place every Wednesday morning. In some instances, you may be scheduled on a different day or time as needed. We ask that you have your records and the actual CD or your chest CT scans sent to us prior to your appointment. If we have not received all of your medical records, particularly the CD of your chest CT scans, you will be asked to hand-carry them to your appointment. After checking into our Chest Clinic, we will gather your records, take your vital signs, obtain a current medication list from you, and room you in our clinic. At this point, there will be a waiting period as our ILD team reviews your scans and other records. You may initially be seen by one of our pulmonary fellows or residents to obtain your initial history and physical exam. After review, one of our ILD physicians will also meet with you for additional exam and history review. At the completion of the visit, they will discuss a treatment plan with you, or discuss further information or testing that may be needed to determine a correct diagnosis and treatment. It may take more than one appointment to confirm diagnosis and a plan of treatment.
